OVRAY, Col., Aug. 25.—Lee Quan, a Chinaman, attempted to rape the daughter of Colonel Shaw this morning. Excitement ran high, and while officers were taking Quan to a place of safety he was fatally shot. The child’s father is supposed to have done the shooting.
