The Gazette of the 26th says:
We heard a rumor yesterday, to the effect that a Chinaman was hung by lynch law at Chipp’s Flat, on Friday last, charged with the murder and robbery of a white man. He had in his possession a ring belonging to the murdered man, and it appears had cut the man’s body in two, to enable him the better to conceal it. We were unable to learn the name of the murdered man, or any further particulars of the affair.
