Unnamed Chinese Man Found Hanging Near Red Bluff

In the fall of 1870, an unnamed Chinese man was reportedly found hanging near Red Bluff in Tehama County, California. The surviving Project record associates the killing with a theft allegation, but no contemporary newspaper account has yet been located. The case remains sparsely documented, preserving only the fact of a hanging death and the accusation said to have surrounded it.
