Ah Quee Was Reportedly Lynched in Truckee
Narrative
In December 1872, a Chinese man identified as Ah Quee was reportedly lynched in Truckee, California. The surviving record preserves his name, place, and the fact of his death, but little else about the circumstances of the lynching or the people responsible for it. At present, the case remains one of the more thinly documented anti-Chinese lynchings in the archive.
